P!nk Announces New Album

Recent receiver of Michael Jackson’s Video Vanguard Award, Pink, has been climbing the charts for over two decades.  After a blip in girl group, Choice, Pink began recording her own music and released her first solo album in 2000.

Pink has had a successful 22 years in the industry.  With her first six albums going platinum, and her seventh set to release in a month,  let’s take a look at some of her greatest achievements, the most recent, being crowned the receiver of the Video Vanguard Award.

With the award being handed out since 1984, and every year since 2013, it was finally time for Pink to shine.  After being presented her award by Ellen DeGeneres in the video below, Pink gave a heartwarming speech to her daughter, explaining true beauty and stating, “We help other people to change so they can see more kinds of beauty.”

Looking back on Pink’s career, you can see that she is truly one of the most successful female performers of our time.  She has been nominated for 129 awards in the US and a few other countries and she has won 100.  It takes a powerhouse vocalist much like Pink to accomplish such a feat.

Pink has broken the mold of what most female vocalists should be.  She’s fearless.  She’s unafraid to tell the world exactly what’s on her mind, and she has paved the way for young girls around the world, sending them the message that it’s okay to be exactly who you want to be.

A new album, Beautiful Trauma, is set to be released on October 13.  The album will feature the new single “What About Us.”  This will be Pink’s first album release since 2012.
